Once enrolled in ProService you will receive e-mail status updates about your repair whether you send the tool directly to us or work with an Authorized Repair Partner.

To send your tool directly to ProService via FedEx:

1. Complete the online Repair Form to start the process. Then print the completed form and FedEx shipping label. Finally, submit the online form to TapeTech ProService.
2. Securely wrap your tool and place it in the smallest box you can. Place the printed Repair Form in the box with the tool and bring the tool to a FedEx Office location. (Note: you will be charged for packaging if you ask the FedEx Office location for supplies.) Your tool will be shipped via 2nd Day Air using our account. Shipping costs vary by shipping zone.

Note: If you are sending your tool directly to ProService (not through a ProService Repair Partner), we require your credit card information on the Repair Form. We will not charge your credit card until we have completed the repair or you have elected not to repair the tool following the repair estimate. We will reserve and amount equal to 50% of the requested repairs in the case of a Repair Package or $75 in the case of an A la Carte Repair.

To bring your tool to an Authorized ProService Repair Partner:

1. Bring the Tool to an Authorized ProService Repair Partner: The Repair Partner will take care of everything for you (Process, Package and Ship). It doesn’t get much easier!
2. Tool Assessment: When we receive your tool, our Expert Technicians will assess the tools to determine the required repairs.
3. Estimate Approval: If you requested an estimate to repair your tool or if our Technicians found additional recommended repairs, we will ask you to approve the estimate we provide.
4. Tool Repair: Your tool is repaired by the same experts who built your top-quality tools!
5. Tool Return: Your tool is returned to you. If you worked with an Authorized Repair Partner, your tool will be returned to the Partner and they will contact you when it is ready for pick up.

Automatic Taper Tune Up: Keep your automatic taper operating smoothly with a standard Taper Tune Up. We will professionally clean your taper then replace all common wear parts with genuine TapeTech parts. Then we’ll lubricate all the moving parts on the taper and adjust the tool to factory settings. Taper Overhaul Package: The Taper Head is like the chassis of your truck or van; if it’s not solid, all the moving parts attached to it won’t function properly. And the many subassemblies on the taper provide the consistent performance you demand. If your taper has miles and miles of experience it may be time for a Taper Overhaul, where we rebuild the head and replace nearly all of the subassemblies. Included with the Taper Overhaul Package is a FREE Taper Tune Up where we replace all the common wear parts with genuine TapeTech parts. Finishing Box Tune Up: Keep your Finishing Boxes in top condition by periodically replacing the common wear parts that help you produce perfectly finished flat and butt joints. We will replace and calibrate the blade, skids, repair clips and wheels. After we’ve changed these parts we’ll give the Finishing Box a professional cleaning, lubricate all the moving parts and adjust the tool to factory settings. Corner Finisher Tune Up: Keep your Corner Finishers in top condition and calibrated to produce perfect internal corners every time. The Tune Up replaces the upper and lower center clips to restore frame and blade alignment, the tension springs to restore factory calibration and action and the skids to reduce edging and sanding of joint compound. New “O” Rings on the wheels of the 48TT or 48XTT eliminate wheel marks and provide smooth performance. Corner Roller Tune Up: After miles and miles of internal corners, the inner rollers of your tool can become worn. When this happens the rollers may feel loose and your corners may not be as precise. Keep your Corner Roller creating crisp internal corners by replacing the studs and inner rollers that support the main rollers. Nail Spotter Tune Up: Keep your Nail Spotters in top condition. This Tune Up includes replacement and calibration of the blade, replacement of the special rivet behind skid to ensure proper functioning of skid on wall and replacement of the friction washers at the handle connection for secure fastening of handle to the tool. If your TapeTech tool needs more service than one of our standard Repair Packages provides or if you would simply like a quote before starting repairs, ProService à la carte Repairs are for you. Our technicians will analyze your tool and provide an itemized quote for approval. This option is recommended if you want to replace just a few parts or if you want to add a few parts to one of our packages. Note: A la carte repairs can add time to the overall repair cycle as it requires a quote and your written approval prior to starting the repairs.

For ProService à la carte Repair service, select the “Please diagnose and repair tool” option from the Service selection dropdown box of the ProService Repair Form. Then tell us as much detail as possible about what the tool is doing (or not doing!) in the Description. The more information you provide, the better we are able to disgnose the problem and repair the tool quickly.

With ProService à la carte Repairs, there is a $50 fee for our technicians to assess the tool and provide a quote. If you authorize the quote and we repair the tool the $50 fee is applied to the cost of the repair. If you decide to not repair the tool, we will reassemble the tool with the existing parts and return it to you. You will be charged the $50 fee for the quote plus the cost of shipping the tool to and from our facility. Shipping costs vary by shipping zone.
