Grassello – Grassello is an ultra-refined, extra-fine Marmorino plaster composed of the finest marble powders and lime. Its exceptionally smooth consistency allows for a highly polished, seamless finish with minimal visible texture. When expertly burnished, Grassello can achieve a striking mirror-like sheen, making it one of the most elegant and luxurious plaster finishes available. It is ideal for high-end interior applications where a sleek, polished aesthetic is desired, such as feature walls, columns, and decorative surfaces.
Marmorino Fine – Marmorino Fine is a premium Venetian plaster with a very fine aggregate that allows for subtle texture while still maintaining a smooth overall appearance. Its formulation enables artisans to create beautiful trowel movement, layering, and depth, resulting in a dynamic, natural stone-like finish. Depending on the level of burnishing, it can range from a soft satin sheen to a higher gloss. Gulf Coast Plaster Artisans offers hands-on, in-person training workshops designed to provide professionals with expert instruction in decorative plaster and microcement applications. These multi-day courses are held at their facility in New Orleans, Louisiana, and are led by their experienced artisan team. Participants gain practical, real-world skills in applying these materials and receive certification upon successful completion. The first workshop, “Hands-On Venetian Plaster,” is ideal for those new to plaster or professionals seeking to strengthen foundational skills using a range of in-demand materials at a professional level. The second workshop, “Introduction to Microcement,” focuses on one of the fastest-growing surface systems in the industry. Widely used throughout Europe and increasingly specified in the United States, microcement is an artisan-applied (troweled, not poured) finish well-suited for high-traffic and high-contact environments, including floors, walls, wet areas, kitchens, fireplaces, counters, hospitality spaces, and commercial applications. The third offering, “Advanced Functional Plaster Application,” is designed for experienced applicators looking to expand their expertise. This workshop covers advanced techniques for functional plaster systems suitable for demanding environments such as high-traffic areas, exterior applications, and wet spaces including showers. Gulf Coast Plaster Artisans is proud to partner with leading suppliers Stucco Italiano and Topcret to deliver these in-person training experiences. These workshops are open exclusively to professional applicators and related industry professionals, with space intentionally limited to ensure a high-quality learning environment. Additional training sessions are offered on a recurring basis.
